Traditional Lead Climbing
Pre-requisite: Intro to Rock Climbing, Top Rope Anchors, & Sport Climbing
The Traditional Lead Climbing course is a 2-day offering that teaches the fundamental skills to successfully lead traditionally-protected rock climbs. The first day will be a review of sound gear placement, the foundation for leading "trad" climbs. The second day will focus on the mechanics of lead climbing--belaying, when to place gear, slinging gear, building anchors--and will provide ample opportunities to practice skills in mock-lead scenarios. The Traditional Lead Climbing course is offered at Palisades Park, Sand Rock, and Steele,, though other locations may be appropriate depending on your needs. The cost for the course is $180. Book now and mention the "trad climbing" course in the notes.
